Float Zone Silicon primarily for detector applications |
|
|
High Purity monocrystalline Silicon (HPS) is primarily for optoelectronic applications including particle and radiation detection applications. The Float Zone growth process is optimized towards having only the substitutional p- and n-type dopants present in the bulk silicon. Normally, the bulk resistivity is in excess of 1.000 Ohm-cm for these products. High resistivity silicon, HiRes™, is a part of the HPS family of products. This product target microwave applications, but is also widely used in detector applications. In comparison with a standard HPS products the HiRes™ have lower resistivity variations and a slightly different vacancy concentration distribution. |
