Photo Voltaic Float Zone (PV-FZ) monocrystalline silicon wafers are recognised for their superior quality in the PV-industry. Float Zone technique is used for growing the moncrystals, emphasising tight process control. Hence, all important parameters for process controll and high efficiency solar cells are optimised.
In 2003, Topsil introduced PV-FZ silicon wafers to support the development and making of high efficiency solar cells, now used worldwide by major manufacturers and research laboratories.
The PV-FZ silicon is available in both n-type and p-type products, both of which have superior performance to Czochralski grown silicon which is the preferred monocrystalline silicon material for PV applications at present.
