Seizing the Opportunity

Today, Topsil has a solid market position in a niche market within silicon wafers for both medium and high voltage products. This position was established in 2006, founded on a long-term supplier agreement, optimisation of production, and access to in-house wafering and new silicon technology through the acquisition of Cemat Silicon S.A. in Poland.

Based on the strong business platform, Topsil’s Management prepared a new strategy at the end of 2009. The “Seizing the Opportunity” strategy covers the period from 2010 to 2012 and aims at turning the favourable market position and strong competitiveness into further growth in activities and earnings.
 
The overall theme of the strategy is to expand and modernise production capacity in order to meet the demand of current and future customers. Topsil will furthermore use the group’s knowhow, technology and market position to optimise its FZ niche position. Moreover, the development pace of new products will be accelerated.
 
Strategy implementation will focus on four core areas: 
  • Achieving customer satisfaction at the highest possible level
  • Continuously improve the cost position, related to the streamlining of production and higher silicon yield
  • Continuously generate synergies from the Cemat S.A. acquisition
  • Strengthening the group’s financial position
