Parliamentary election 2026 in Denmark

Round table and honest talk with politicians at Topsil

It’s not every day you can get many politicians talking at the same time – but we were able to do so today, when here at Topsil GlobalWafers A/S on Siliciumvej in Frederikssund, there was an invitation to a roundtable discussion between representatives of the business community and the entire palette of politicians who are up for election.

From a political point of view, there was attendance from:

Rasmus Stoklund (A)
Hans Andersen (V)
Mette Thiesen (O)
Tine Hessner (B)
Marlene Harpsøe (Æ)
Martin Nordstjerne Rasmussen (H)

And strong representatives of the business community in the form of:

Therese Beate Bording Hermann (Topsoe )
John Rasmussen (Topsoe )
Christian Rosenkrantz de Lasson (FOSS )
Jan Sørensen (Nordisk-Staal )
Hans Peder Mikkelsen (Topsil GlobalWafers A/S )
Sune Bro Duun (Topsil GlobalWafers A/S )
Mette Finnemann (Danish Industry )

Elegantly moderated by Jens Hald, director of Frederikssund Erhverv.

Most of the companies are present both locally and internationally, and the conversation quickly turned to the major challenges that are common to the entire business in Denmark, namely the ability to compete with foreign countries on terms that are currently very difficult to describe as ‘fair’ and which therefore call for attention and wise adjustments from the political side.

Fortunately, all participants were responsive to both this and other topics such as unnecessary administrative burdens, access to qualified labor, business support, research, AI, national security of supply, etc.

You were left with a good impression of a collection of people who may have different opinions and do not have exactly the same priorities, but who are nevertheless aware that the reason why Denmark is very prosperous is that companies invest and hire in this country. And as long as our new members of parliament at the same time work for the common good of all of us and remember that you cannot vote your way to money that has not been earned – then everything will be fine.

The day’s round table was finally replaced by a lunch table, where the guests went out to the canteen and had a bite to eat in the company of the rest of us employees at Topsil and there was an opportunity, quite informally, to have a little conversation with both parliamentary candidates and business people.

Thank you to everyone for a good and interesting day
